A young girl tumbled over a wooden fence this week at the St. Louis Zoo, an accident which resulted in a cut on her head but no danger of coming close to the animals: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/0...a121428D15.DTL&tsp=1.

The incident is reminiscent of the Christmas Day incident at the San Francisco Zoo, where one visitor was killed and two others injured when a Siberian tiger escaped her enclosure. How much responsibility do zoos have for monitoring -- and in some cases, dictating -- their visitors' behavior?
